Four caprices for violin solo (1980) was written for the Do-Re-Mi National Festival of Contemporary Music Works for Children and Youth in Lodz. They acquiant the young violinist with the peculiarities of the 20th century musical language, abounding in chromatic and metrial operations, but also making demands concerning the right hand and the production of various tone colors. The original version, easier in terms of fingering and bowing, was amended after consultation with violinist Józef Iwanowicz, and this version will be considered as the correct one
