Here are some great new duets for young saxophonists by James Rae in his own inimitable style… or perhaps that should be styles, since, like many of his collections, this covers swing, jazz, blues, rock and much more. “Easy Jazzy Saxophone Duets 2” includes some very topical references with “Lockdown Blues” and “Stickin’ Together” but the mood is lifted with pieces like “Just Rockin’” and “Wrappin’ it up”. This album is a sequel to Easy Jazzy Saxophone Duets (UE 16551) and, in both books, the pieces are set in comfortable keys and are not technically demanding. They can be played by two altos, two tenors or alto and tenor.
